As if we really needed another reason to nostalgically reminisce on the love of classic hip hip trends, the Reebok Style Suite gave the gift that keeps on giving (vintage wise). Yesterday, fashion gurus, designers, sneaker lovers and hip hip hipsters gathered at TheMuseum DC in North East to crown the classic foot wear of Reebok as the new (old) kid on the block.
Reverting to the fact that Modern Stitches exudes previous trends from decades past, we would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge that 90’s birthed the crisp all white clean Reeboks. Who knew they would make a debut all these years later?
As the event proceeded into the evening, the atmosphere shifted into vibes from DJ 5’9 where he kept the groove moving, heads swaying and feet moving. Jive Records recording artist and DC native, Raheem Devaughn made an appearance while store owners judged a friendly designers contest to keep the crowd entertained. Each designer constructed styles for a duo (male and female) that would compliment the featured shoe of the night. Each were equally unique to their specific styles, but there was only one winner.
The store is scheduled to open next Saturday, April 9th. In the mean time, check out Themuseumdc on instagram @themuseumdc
Once you cop your classics, what will your style say?
