Shopping at a thrift store is guaranteed for good finds. However, at a consignment shop you’ll find ageless gems. Modern Stitches headed over virtually to the Galleria Dallas exhibit  “She’s Got The Look”, presented by Toni&Guy and Greg Kelly, co-owner of Martini Consignment. The exhibit took us time traveling through 80’s fashion. Martini Consignment is a vintage shop that sells luxury antique pieces from designers like Gucci, Gianni Versace, Valentino, Prada, and much more. An assortment of garments and accessories were displayed on mannequins to relive 80’s fashion. Toni&Guy is a beauty school that provided wigs for the mannequins that added an extra touch to the 80’s craze.

Kelly gave us a fashion history lesson of certain pieces in the exhibit. A display of about seven hundred vintage pieces that featured some of the most iconic designers and tv show costumes. The original costumes and accessories from tv shows such as  “Hart to Hart”, “Dallas”, “Dynasty” and “Charlie’s Angels.” These lavish fur ensembles were worn by Joan Collins in hit show “Dynasty” episode 114, season 5  called “The Heiress.” Many of Collins’s iconic looks of sophistication, class, and femininity were displayed and forever treasured for “She’s Got The Look.”

Our favorite piece in the exhibit has to be case 3 for its shinny goodies. Heirloom after another this case is a dream closet with stunning pieces from gold Chanel drop earrings to Ginza Kanematsu colorful pumps.

Each piece has a story behind it which makes this exhibit so grand. And what makes Martini Consignment so special is that people can shop these antique pieces and give them new life. “She’s Got The Look” was such a fun way to reminisce on the funky fashion of the 80’s with color, detail, and groovy music.
