Concrete couture aka streetwear has been runway inspiration since the beginning of time. Believe it or not, many fashion designers use every day street style as research for their next collection. From hip hop videos to social media influencers, new luxury styles surface on the runway and it’s due to creativity and culture. Take a look at our top five and how they’ve stole the show in the street and made an appearance on the catwalk:
Fanny packs
Once thought of as only a women’s accessory in the late 80’s and 90’s, designers are making fanny packs that appeal to men as well here in 2020. Many fashion forward men are choosing to wear their fanny pack as a crossbody look instead of the typical waist accessory. Fanny packs were seen on the runway at Ermenegildo Zegna‘s Fall 2020 Menswear collection show.
- Leather from Head-to-Toe. Leather has been extremely popular this season. You can channel “The Matrix” by wearing an outfit that only consists of black leather, styled with black sunglasses and black boots. Miu Miu let us have it in the Fall 2020 Ready-to-Wear! Leather never goes out of style.

Due to the pandemic, people aren’t going out like they once were so designers are capitalizing on that. Now we’re seeing sweatsuits are being worn on the runway. Designer Zero + Maria Cornejo came out with a hot pink sweatsuit that’s perfect for wearing on Zoom calls, and even running errands.

These days, designers are trading the basic purse handle in for a chunky gold chain. Luxury brand, Bottega Veneta are known for their chain bags.
