Needless to say, we’re thrilled to see a resurgence of this iconic look from the 1970s and early 2000s back on the runway. And while designers like Saint Laurent are creating more luxurious takes on the halter concept, there’s an evident nod to its humble beginnings, such as the notable halter dress worn by Naomi Campbell during the Versace Spring/Summer 1996 show.

There’s truly no better way to do it than with dramatic shoulder blazers.
Blazers featuring sky-high shoulders, sharp lines, and picture-perfect structures are making a major comeback from their 1980s roots, paying homage to significant Black women of history who adorned this famous style, from model and actress Grace Jones to singer Diana Ross.
In fall 2024’s dramatic shoulder blazer return, we’re noticing designers such as Alexander McQueen blending over-the-top shoulders with tailored fits for a look that combines contemporary and retro elements for a show-stopping finish.

There are a few styles that will simply never go out of style, no matter how long they’ve been around; puff sleeves are one of them. Puff sleeves were initially worn during the Victorian era, but like the dramatic shoulder blazers, they reserved their place in the 1980s.
Since then, puff sleeves have come and gone, but they have never lost their place in the world of fashion. They were simply reinvented to suit the scene. For example, designers like Telfar Clemens and Pyer Moss’s Kerby Jean-Raymond idyllically blended puff sleeves with a streetwear aesthetic, creating a completely unique combo that shook the urban wear landscape.

For fall 2024, it’s clear that leather’s taking center stage – on the runway and beyond. However, leather trench coats are definitely at the top of the list of leather must-haves for fall.
We can expect to see a wide range of leather trench coats on the runway, from Burberry’s streamlined and tailored solutions exuding luxury and class to Gucci’s take with bolder colors and unique finishes.

The streetwear craze emerged in the 1980s and continued to surge through the 1990s, and let’s face it, you can’t mention “streetwear” without thinking about denim pieces. Denim from head to toe could be seen on platforms across the globe, with some notable Black figures like Missy Elliot and Jay-Z sporting the style on tours, music videos, and more.
Today, we’re more than thrilled to announce that denim’s back – and you can double up on the denim if you’d like. There are certainly no “rules” to this trend, and plenty of designers are showing off denim-on-denim get-ups we can’t wait to copy.
However, if you’re new to the world of denim or want to keep it casual with a single piece, the denim skirt is your best option—especially with 2024’s take on the classic attire. This year, denim skirts are getting a subtle modern makeover with asymmetrical hemlines, frayed edges, and other details that add a pop of “new” while tributing the “old.”
