Long Live the Jelly Sandal

Post By RelatedRelated Post

You were definitely the coolest girl at the park, playground, in school, or at the beach if you were rocking a pair of jelly shoes or sandals. The slippery yet firm plastic shoe — which came in an array of colors, and sometimes even glitter — were the epitome of foot fashion in the 1990s and early 2000s.

One of our fave fashion icons Rihanna has just brought back this jelly trend. This summer, Fenty Puma is getting a new slide design to add to the faux fur and silk ribbon collection. An official date and price of the slides has not been released yet, but according to pattern they’ll run $90.00.

Step out in pretty pink, bold baby blue, or alluring olive green.

IMG_4267In April of 2016, Rihanna released a faux fur line of slides, which was an overwhelming success. Initially in black, white, and pink, the shoes sold out within minutes and Rihanna made a second release (June 2016) restocking the original colors, including gray the second time around.

Following the fur, Rihanna released a satin bow slide design, and matching sneaker earlier this year in March. Both designs sold out within a matter of hours, making the slides trend desirable again.

Whether your slide on a pair to chill by the pool, or a pair to step out on the town, this is the summer to relive your inner child, as a warm feeling of nostalgia overwhelms you!
